christianity is the largest religion in the world. Their followers are called Christians. It was founded after Jesus' death on the cross. Their holy book, the Bible, has the life and experiences of Jesus. They believe that Jesus, the son of God, led a virtuous life, was crucified died, buried, and resurrected. He ascended into heaven where he reigns with God the father. They have the Catholic church, eastern orthodox church, Protestants, and many more. The head of these churches is the Pope.

islam is the second largest religion in the world. their followers are called Muslims. It was founded by  Muhammad. Their holy book is the Qur'an. It contains their beliefs that there are five pillars, testimony, prayer, alms-giving, fasting, and pilgrimage. That they see their purpose in life as serving and submitting to Allan, their god. There are two groups, the larger groups are the Sunnis, and the smaller are Shiites. These two groups do not get along.

hinduism I the third largest religion in the world. Their followers are called Hindus. There is no distinct founder. Their holy book is the Vedas. These contain the eternal truths revealed to ancient sages. The Vedas are composed in verse form, it is meant to be sung and easily memorized. It is a series of intellectual or philosophical points of view rather than a rigid, strict set of beliefs. Probably the oldest extant religion. Hindus are mostly found in India and Nepal.

buddhism, the number of adherents vary quite a bit, from 500 million to 1.5 billion. Their followers are called Buddhists. It was founded by Siddhartha Gautama. They have no holy book, but four noble truths. There is suffering, attachment to desire is the origin of suffering, there is a cessation of suffering, and the eightfold path will lead to the cession of suffering. Their denomination is the Tibetan, Zen, Theravada, and the amidst.

judaism is the ninth largest religion in the world. Their followers are called Jews. It was founded by Abraham. Their holy book is the Torah, which is actually the first five books of the old testament in the bible. They were the first to believe in monotheism, which is why other religions were always out to get them, example, Hitler. They believe God is one and concerned with the actions of humankind. The 10 commandments and 13 principles of faith play a big part in their religion.
